Well congrats!

If you’ve landed on this page because you plan to travel to Ethiopia, then I’m going to let you in on a little secret… this country is my favourite in the world!

Not an accolade I give out lightly I can tell you, Ethiopia shot its way straight into my heart within days of me first arriving there back in 2017.

Since then I’ve returned multiple times because, quite frankly, I just can’t get enough of the place!

Otherwise, just know this country is a winner thanks to its incredibly alluring combination of coffee, cultural variety, mad music, breathtaking landscapes, wilderness adventures and some serious UNESCO treasures.

A huge nation, it’s worth taking your time to explore this African giant and knowing that the main dry season, which runs from December through February, is certainly the best time to visit.

With a week only, I’d really stick to Addis and the surrounding destinations, but with 2 weeks, you’ve got enough time for the Northern Historic Circuit too.

With 3-4 weeks, you can also explore the very different south of the country, as well as the unbelievable Afar region, which boasts salt flats and volcanoes to name but a few treasures.

With some of the friendliest people one earth, who are steadfastly proud of their traditions and culture, Ethiopia really is like a world unto itself.

A place that really has to be visited to be believed.
