Portugal
If you’re a digital nomad, then there’s no doubt you’ll have had Lisbon if your frame of vision for a while now as this city has become the go-to spot for those looking to work abroad in Europe.
For everyone else, Lisbon makes an ideal city break, one where slow morning over coffee, are followed by leisurely walks up to hills to amazing lookouts and buckets loads of petiscos – the Portuguese form of tapas.
For those looking to stay longer, there’s heaps to explore along the coastline near Lisbon as well as in fantastic second city of Porto, which boasts amazing trips to the Douro Valley, famous for its port production.
Down in the south you have the stunning, beachy Algarve.
Long known as a package holiday destination, there’s actually plenty to explore here for independent travellers, including an amazing food and wine scene, great surf, cute towns and epic cliff hiking.
As a fairly small country, it’s easy to see a lot in a couple of weeks here and the best time to visit is definitely in the spring or autumn months when thinner crowds make for a more pleasant experience and are easier on the budget!
