Located in east Africa, Uganda is a big hitter when it comes to wildlife travel in this continent, not least for the fact it boasts gorillas within its borders!

Located in the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, Uganda is the country with the cheapest permits to see these magnificent creatures, which means if you’re traveling as affordably as possible, and hiking to see gorillas in their natural setting is high on your bucket list, Uganda is definitely the place to head.

But it’s not just gorilla sightings that Uganda offers!

This country is also home to chimpanzees, which again you can hike to see, as well as a huge range of other African animals, including the Big 5.

Top safari spots include Queen Elizabeth National Park, Murchison Falls National Park and Kibale National Park, where you can spot elephants, big cats, buffalo, hyena, antelope and a huge array of birds.

Jinja, another top spot in Uganda, is also a must-see.

As the adventure capital of east Africa, it boasts a large variety of adrenaline activities for the wild at heart.

Most popular is the white water rafting, which takes place on the famous White Nile River that runs through this country.

Add into this mix Uganda’s buzzing capital, Kampala, along with the city of Entebbe and Lake Victoria and it’s obvious why this country pulls in so many people!
