Indonesia

From the beautiful island of Bali to jostling Jakarta, paradisical Raja Ampat and mystical Komodo, Indonesia – a country of over 18,110 islands and islets – has a huge amount to explore.

Located in Southeast Asia, this diverse and delightful country is hot and humid year round, but boasts beautiful beaches, bustling cities, incredible temples and festivals, not to wonderful wildlife adventures.

As one of the most affordable destinations in the region, it’s a great option for first-time travellers, with Bali in particular, being an easy transition to the colour and chaos of life here.

Luxury accommodation can be found across the country, as can amazing Airbnbs, great hostels and wonderful homestays.

Don’t miss Borobudur, Mount Bromo, Lake Toba, Yogyakarta or Lombok off your Indonesia itinerary either – 2 weeks is really the least amount of travel time you need to get a flavour of this fabulous country.

Brilliant to combine with a visit to Malaysia, Singapore or even Australia, with Darwin just a short flight from Bali, if you’re looking to spot some amazing animals, meet friendly people, check out incredible temples and soak up some stunning beaches, then you’ll be hard pushed to find a better destination than Indonesia!
