Armenia
One of the least visited countries I’ve ever been too (and you know I love a country that few people have visited!) Armenia is an utterly charming destination.
Located in the Caucasus region, sandwiched between Iran, Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey, Armenia is an incredible mix of Middle Eastern, European and Slavic influences.
The capital, Yerevan, is likely to be the place you begin your time in Armenia and from here you can enjoy a range of fabulous day or 2 day trips to places such as Tatev, Dilijan, Lake Sevan and Areni.
One place that I highly recommend you spend longer at is Goght, from where nearby Gerhard Monastery, Garni Temple and Khor Virab can all be enjoyed.
Don’t miss the chance to hike in the stunning mountains surrounding this area too.
Despite being a small country, there’s a lot to see in Armenia and getting around the country can take a while, which is why I recommend 1-2 weeks for your adventures here.
