Barbados
One of the most popular Caribbean islands to visit, Barbados is renowned for its tropical climate, amazing beaches, fantastic waters teaming with wildlife and its world-class rum production.
All-inclusive, lounger-heavy resorts abound on this small island, but wonderfully there’s plenty to explore for the independent traveller too.
From hiking and caving opportunities in Barbados’ lush hinterland, to fantastic walking and food tours, through to distillery tastings, catamaran cruises, horse riding and even surfing lessons, this amazing island boasts a wealth of great activities for those looking to explore deeper.
And it doesn’t have to cost the earth either.
Travelling in the shoulder months of November and March are great ways to keep the costs of a Barbados trip down, and there’s plenty of lovely local hotels that offer great facilities for a fraction of the costs of the larger brand hotels too.
