The Best eSIM for Europe (inc the UK!) I’ve Found

Best eSIM for Europe

There’s no question, discovering eSIMs earlier this year has been a game changer in my travel world!

In fact, so enamoured was I with this incredible piece of travel tech, that it instantly shot into my top 3 travel gadgets (along with Water to Go Filter Bottles and Trtl Travel Pillows!)

Simple to use, very affordable, wonderfully safety-enhancing and all-round amazingly convenient, eSIMs are the travel accessory you really can’t jet away without.

And when it comes to the best eSIM I’ve found for Europe travels (including the UK), it’s hard to get better than the JT eSIM – the perfect way to make travel SIMpler.

From low cost to multi-country access, here’s why I rate this eSIM as my top pick for European adventuring…

Why I Love the JT eSIM?

But just why is the JT eSIM my fav for Europe and the UK?

Well the first answer is, of course, the price.

Like any good budget traveller, having a keen eye on the costs of all aspects of my travel plans is key… and eSIMs are no exception.

Wonderfully, the JT eSIM starts from just £6 for 30 days of use, making it one of the cheapest eSIM packages I’ve come across.

The JT eSIM is also fantastically straightforward and versatile.

No need to buy a separate eSIM for each country you intend to visit on your trip; with the JT eSIM, you’re covered for a whole region – ideal if you’re plans are flexible, you’re on a longer adventure or you’re looking to get your money’s worth!

For me, and my love of spontaneously extending a trip, (I’m looking at you Corfu and how I accidentally-on-purpose decided on a whim to skip over to Albania for some time there afterwards!) this is perfect.

The only thing you do have to choose when it comes to the JT eSIM is the data package you want, which as I said starts from just £6!

For low data (thinking about my parents here who perhaps only use their phones to check WhatsApp once a day, maybe send an email and give Facebook a cursory look!), there’s smaller packages available that keep costs low.

For higher data users (and I’m probably the worst culprit here, but in my defence I am a travel blogger so I can blame work!), there’s packages that have greater data allowances for greater freedom and phone time on the move!

And of course, you can always top up your eSIM in case you need a little more connectivity than you anticipated while away.

This can be done SIMply through the JT app, which can be quickly installed on your phone to manage your JT eSIM most effectively.

Connection through the JT eSIM is also super fast (a game changer for me when I’m trying to upload videos to social media I can tell you!) and you can even keep your original number for phone calls – hoorah!

eSIM activation

One of the great things I love about eSIMs is that they’re digital products.

Doing away with the fiddly business of swapping over your physical SIM card in foreign phone shops (trying to find a hair pin to pop your tiny SIM out and then watching it fly out of your phone and across the floor before sliding directly under another customer’s shoe… ok just me then!), eSIMs can be SIMply loaded and activated on your phone in minutes via an emailed QR code.

And the JT eSIM is no different.

This is exactly how you’re able to keep your regular phone number, even when using the JT eSIM (in case you need to take any calls when you’re away) and then quickly top up your JT eSIM or reactivate it with a different plan in the future.

eSIM safety

Greece, Corfu Old Town, Me in Corner

Using an eSIM not only stops it from being stolen and removed, but also helps cut down on the growing number of SIM swap fraud incidents happening globally.

And as a frequent solo female traveller, I also feel safer with my JT eSIM, knowing I can be connected as soon as I touchdown.

Whether this is to tell those at home I’ve arrived safely, successfully grab an Uber from the airport to my accommodation, or check maps and email bookings for hotels or tours, being reliably and instantly connected, makes me feel safer, especially when travelling alone.

So if you’re looking for the best eSIM for Europe, I would highly recommend the JT eSIM!

Extending to the UK as well (which is a great thing after Brexit resulted in many EU roaming-free packages no longer working in the UK), the JT eSIM is one of the most affordable eSIMs I’ve found, especially given the number of destinations and duration it covers.

With 30 days access starting from just £6, this must-have travel tech accessory is a no brainer when it comes to travelling safer, smarter and SIMpler this summer and beyond…
