My Superb Stay at St Christopher’s Inn, Paris

Our Superb Stay at St Christopher’s Inn, Paris

If you’re heading off on a European city break this summer then trust me, when it comes to your accommodation, location is everything.

Too far away and you’ll be spending way too much of your precious time travelling to and from all the great attractions and things you want to see.

Too close, and you’ll be paying through the roof for a simple room where you’re probably not going to spend a lot of time.

Striking a balance between these two factors therefore is key when choosing your accommodation for a European city break – a fact I was reminded of very recently on my trip to Paris.

Where to Stay in Paris?

Looking at a map of Paris it’s initially very hard to know where to base yourself.

With so many attractions spread out across both sides of the Seine and a large historic centre not known for its budget-friendly price tags, the difficulty of knowing where to even start looking for accommodation in this great city is definitely something that confuses a lot of visitors heading there, myself included.

Luckily, the very friendly folk at St Christopher’s Inn: Gare du Nord offered to help me out during my stay and kindly gave me a private room at their large and established hostel from which to enjoy Paris at her best.

And enjoy at her best, I certainly did!

Gare du Nord Area

Because as it turned out, without even realising, I found myself staying in the perfect Paris location!

For those not aware, “gare” means station in French and “du Nord” means of the north. So it’s unsurprising that Gare du Nord itself is a station located just north of central Paris.

In fact, it’s a very large and famous station that provides visitors with some of the best connections and one of the greatest number of metro and train lines or bus routes in the city.

From Gare du Nord, you can get to just about anywhere in Paris in a matter of minutes, as well as on the Eurostar to London!

St Christopher’s Inn: Gare du Nord, is just a 2-minute walk from this station and, as a result, is brilliantly connected to tons of different attractions and locations within the heart of the city.

This means heading out the door for sightseeing in the daytime and for dinner and drinks in the evening is easier, safer and quicker than you can ever imagine!

In fact, the location could hardly be better!

And believe me, that’s exactly what you want when you’re trying to see and savour as much of this iconic city as possible.
