While Croatia may have made it onto the mainstream travel map following the Games of Thrones, it’s probably the beautiful Adriatic Sea and breath-taking coastline and islands that have kept it there!

With a huge stretch of coastline and a collection of diverse islands and beautiful beaches, for those looking for sun, sea and sand, Croatia is the perfect getaway in Eastern Europe.

And this is particularly true given its relative affordability.
For while Croatia may have grown a little in the budget stakes due to its popularity, it’s still offers pretty good value compared to other nearby countries, such as nearby Italy or Greece.

Except, that is, in Dubrovnik!

The jewel in the crown of Croatia, this stunning walled historic city in the south of the country is notoriously over-priced and over-touristed these days, which is a real shame, but it’s totally stunning.

In fact, so stunning, it’s probably still worth a visit for a day, but then I’d definitely advise heading to other parts of this gorgeous country, or even skipping down to nearby Montenegro.

Definitely head to Croatia in the summer months from May to September and fly to either Split, Dubrovnik, Zadar, Pula or even the inland capital of Zagreb to make the most of this country…
