Malta

Located way down at the southern tip of Europe, Malta perfectly perches itself between the Italian island of Sicily and the North African country of Tunisia… and it shows!

Right across the island, influences from both these regions can easily be spotted across the language, food and architecture of this charming destination.

But don’t be fooled, the island clearly has its own identity too, with a strong sense of community and culture shining through and, from its amazing historical sights and UNESCO treasures, to its beautiful coastline and stunning hiking trails, has a lot to offer visitors looking for a late summer or early spring getaway.

Capital Valletta is a gorgeous mix of quaint streets complete with traditional houses and their brightly coloured, overhanging gallerias, while smaller island, Gozo, boasts amazing farmhouses stays with local provides away from the crowds.

Snorkelling, SUP-ing and sailing can all be enjoyed across Malta’s coastline and, as part of the EU, the island offers a safe and easy escape with plenty of sunshine and some great prices.
