Austria
Straddling the border between western and eastern Europe, Austria is a country full of amazing historic cities and stunning mountain scenery.
Vienna, the capital, is a fantastic city break, filled with outstanding cultural icons and experiences, from opera houses and palaces to museums, that you can spend at least 3 full day exploring.
From Vienna, it’s then easy to hope down the Danube to explore cities like Budapest in Hungry, Belgrade in Serbia and Bratislava in Slovakia.
Beyond Vienna, Hallstatt is an Instagram picture-perfect spot in Austria and little visited Graz also offers lots of historic treasures too.
Innsbruck is the spot to head for stunning Alp scenery and winter sports, while Salzburg, the birthplace of Mozart and famous from the iconic movie The Sound of Music, offers Baroque and Medieval beauty with views of the eastern Alps that can’t be missed.
