Sweden

Enjoy the nordic escape of Sweden – full of natural beauty and iconic Scandi culture, it’s a dream destination.

Not known for its price-friendly nature, Sweden is definitely worth the splurge however, thanks to its unspoiled scenery, and rich cultural heritage.

From the sleek modernity of Stockholm, to the wild forests of Värmland, Sweden is both easy and accessible to travel.

I suggest starting your adventure in Stockholm, Sweden’s capital.

Spread across 14 islands and known for its clean design, historic architecture, and vibrant cultural scene, don’t miss wandering through Gamla Stan, the charming Old Town, or the world-famous Vasa Museum.

You can also explore the Stockholm Archipelago via ferry, or splash out on Michelin-starred dining and trendy boutiques.

To experience Sweden’s natural side, I loved my time in Värmland, a region of deep forests, peaceful lakes, and endless outdoor adventures – a great place to experience “allemansrätten”- the Swedish right to roam.

Whether you’re canoeing down the Klarälven River, hiking through wild landscapes, or spotting moose at dawn, Värmland is perfect for unplugging and immersing yourself in nature.

The best time to visit Sweden is from May to September, when the days are long, the weather is mild, and festivals fill the city streets and countryside towns alike.
In summer, the Midnight Sun lights up the sky in the north, offering magical extended evenings in Sweden.

Autumn, with its golden forests, is also an ideal time to visit regions like Värmland.
Don’t miss the chance to enjoy a traditional fika (coffee break), hop on a scenic train ride through the countryside, or stay in a cosy red cottage by a lake.

Whether you’re drawn to urban sophistication or wild adventure, Sweden is perfect!
