Australia

From the Great Ocean Road to the Great Barrier Reef, there’s not much that isn’t great about Australia!

And I should know, I spent 4.5 years living and travelling there.

From the Queensland coast, where I first settled down amidst the coastal beauty of Noosa, through to the bustling port city of Fremantle, where I ended my time in Australia, this mammoth island proved one heck of an adventure.

In between, I got to enjoy just about everything the country has to offer – from the dazzling lights of Sydney and the Blue Mountains that lie behind it, to the buzz of Adelaide Fringe and its nearby winelands, through to the wild Outback of Darwin, Kakadu, Litchfield, Alice Springs and Broome.

I drove the Gibb River Road, the Nullabour, the Coral Coast Highway and the Grand Pacific Drive, I scuba dived both east and west coast reefs, lived on Magnetic Island, visited Rottnest and Fraser Island, camped in dozens of national parks and saw crocs, kangaroos, wallabies, dingoes, koalas, echidna and wombats… genuinely, I had the time of my life!

For laidback, outdoorsy adventures, it’s really hard to beat Australia and no matter what time of year you want to go – there’s a part of the country ideal for you too!

And if that hasn’t convinced you to book a trip, then maybe these articles will…
