From the famous capital of Bangkok with its incredible temples, to the stunning islands of Koh Samui, Koh Tao and Koh Lipe – there’s no question Thailand has a huge number of spots you should not miss if you visit this Southeast Asian nation.

One of the most economically developed countries in the region, Thailand often acts as a getaway to the whole region, because its main airport in Bangkok acts a huge international hub.

As such, Thailand has well and truly been on the traveller list for a while (who can forget the infamous The Beach novel and film for starters?!), but nevertheless, this country still provides a great cultural and historical adventure.

In particular, the cities in the more remote north of the country, including Chiang Mai, Chiang Ria and Pai offer diverse landscapes that boast hiking, yoga, cooking and temple sightseeing away from the beachy resort crowds.

But if you are after luxury, then top hotels abound in many parts of this country, and given the easy of travel here and the relative safety too, adventuring in Thailand is a great option if it’s your first foray into Southeast Asia.

Thailand is still one of the most affordable countries to travel in this part of the world, offering incredible value for money.

Brilliant to combine with travelling in Cambodia, Laos or Malaysia, which all share land borders with Thailand, if you’re looking for a bucket list favourite that still delivers, you’ll be hard-pressed to find a better destination than good old Thailand!
