From the famous Angkor Wat with its incredible temples, to the stunning islands of Koh Rong and Koh Rong Sanloem – there’s no question Cambodia has a number of gems that you should not miss if you visit this Southeast Asian nation.

One of the least economically developed countries in the region, heading to Cambodia is nevertheless a great cultural and historical adventure, not to mention this land offers a huge diversity of amazing landscapes to discover too.

From tropical islands to beautiful rivers, temples and rice paddies, as well as colonial towns and wild jungles, heading to Cambodia is the perfect option if it’s your first foray into Southeast Asia.

Luxury lodges abound in many parts of this country which, thanks to the fact it’s one of the most affordable countries to travel in Asia, offer incredible value for money.

That said, if you’re a backpacker on a budget, then there are also a huge amount of this hostels to enjoy here – many of the flashpacker variety with rooftop pools and great bars that keep the social nature of travel in this country running high!

Brilliant to combine with a visit to Thailand and / or Vietnam, which lie just across the Cambodia’s borders, if you’re looking to spot some amazing historical and cultural sights, you’ll be hard pushed to find a better destination.
